Artemis House

Victims of Violence Intervention Program, operating Artemis House Shelter, is seeking a Program Director to join our team.

In coordination with the Executive Director, the PD will direct, administer, and coordinate all VVIP direct service activities. Schedule staff meetings, Crisis Line, and manage day-to-day direct service operations. 

Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations:

  1. Supervise direct service staff, shelter coordinator, interns and volunteers, develop and maintain staff and crisis line schedules, training new direct service staff, provide ongoing professional development of staff in areas of domestic violence and sexual assault
  2. Participate and coordinate speaking engagements, community meetings, undertake public education and awareness activities
  1. Oversee Sexual Assault Response Team coordination
  2. Oversee Support Group coordination
  1. Identify and network with community partners and other service agencies to
    1. create collaborative, community-based approach to serving survivors
    2. build community awareness of available resources and services
  2. Identify and develop new opportunities for growth of programs and services
    1. Develop new program areas to better serve clients
    2. Evaluate ongoing program services and recommend changes when needed
  3. Develop and implement policies and practices with adherence to agency protocol and ensure the ongoing operation of all current programming
  4. Oversee the accurate documentation and reporting of services provided
  5. Maintain documentation of services as required by grantors
    1. Oversee client management, record keeping and complying with reporting requirements from grantors
  6. Work closely with the Executive Director to ensure quality of services, assist with and develop special projects, and assist with identifying funding needs
  7. Assist with shelter, on-site crisis work and crisis line coverage as needed
  8. Promote positive VVIP public image. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the VVIP Board of Directors.

The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) West Women’s Business Center (WBC) seeks applicants for a Program Coordinator. SD CEO is a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration and is hosted by the Black Hills State University (BHSU) Foundation, with offices on the BHSU campus in Spearfish, SD.

SD CEO West is a key partner in the economic and workforce development space in South Dakota providing comprehensive training and business assistance for aspiring entrepreneurs and forward-thinking intrapreneurs. SD CEO facilitates opportunities for our clients to acquire the knowledge, skills, and resources to help discover their internal entrepreneurial mindset, launch new ventures, gain confidence in business, and grow both personally and professionally through SD CEO West’s support, mentoring, and advocacy. SD CEO West is a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Key responsibilities of the SD CEO West Program Coordinator:

Community Outreach, Training and Event Management, Public Relations, Marketing:

Serves as the program development and coordination lead for SD CEO West educational and business training sessions. Acts as key external and internal project lead and scheduler for multiple events, conferences, and activities. Responsible for scheduling, training, and managing programs for quality and overall performance using volunteers, staff, and external partners; analyzing program-related information and reporting to meet grant goals; ensure program compliance with Federal, State, and University regulations; and manage contracts, budget, and schedules. With input from the Director on overall program direction, this position directs the development, creation, and delivery of virtual and in-person training programs. Directs and implements marketing and public relations activities. Assists SD CEO West Director with fundraising activities as directed.

Program-Related Financial Management & Grant Reporting:

Responsible for program income revenues from diversified revenue streams related to events. Manages budgets and contracts to support training program delivery. Assists in writing grant reports and applications to support program activities in compliance for federal, state, private and foundation grants and program income revenues.

Assists the Director in identifying potential community resources for revenue generation, including identifying sponsors, investors, and grants. Fosters relationships with statewide businesses for financial and programmatic support.
Project Management:

Responsible for leading multiple project management related activities, which may include functions such as financial projections of program activities, registration coordination, logistics, sponsor relations and communication, and interfacing with university offices, local, state and regional businesses, federal agencies and outside clients and vendors. Acts as lead project manager, ensuring tasks are assigned and deadlines met for the SD CEO West team.

Business Advising:

Meet 1:1 for confidential business advising sessions with established and aspiring entrepreneurs to share SBA and other economic development-related resources. Assist in building and managing the referral network. Advising topics focus primarily on business start-up processes, business plans, marketing plans, financial projections, accessing capital, and hiring staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, education, or related field AND at least three (3) years of related program development, financial or management experience, OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
    • People connector and networker, comfortable working with sponsors, donors, media, and the public.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications.
    • Comfortable with public speaking and facilitating meetings with small to large groups.
    • Active listener and team-focused.
    • Ability to work in a high paced environment, with changing priorities, and with many interruptions.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Previous experience as a business owner or managing a small business would be helpful.
    • Previous experience in curriculum development, counseling, teaching, or a related training-focused environment would be helpful.
    • Work processes and practices pertaining to public administration and/or non-profit programs and management; applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations; general methods and processes in purchasing, budgeting, project planning, and other administrative activities pertinent to government operations, basic statistical measures; research methods would be helpful.
    • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
    • Experience with graphics programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Canva), social media platforms (Meta: Facebook and Instagram, LinkedIn, X), Constant Contact, and other generally available marketing tools and platforms is helpful.
