On Saturday, March 15 from 12 to 2 p.m. the Tri-State Museum and Visitor Center will host a special literary event featuring writers, readings and conversation about the importance of writing.

 David Raber will read from his new book Life and Laughter in Belle Fourche, and sign books for sale in the store. Raber has also written a crime fiction book entitled The Disappearance of Al Vincent, which will also be available for sale in the museum store.

The Belle Fourche Writers will read their works and discuss how people can join their group. In 2024, the Belle Fourche Writers published their second anthology, Life’s Landscapes which will be available for sale at the event. 

The need to encourage writing – including of journals and diaries – will be discussed by museum staff, as materials like this are needed for research archives to be used in decades to come.

Those interested in hearing readings and those interested in writing are encouraged to attend, no matter what your age or experience!

REALTORS® For Kids Annual Auction March 28, 2025

(Spearfish, SD) The 22

nd annual REALTORS® for Kids (RFK) benefit Auction will be held March 28,
2025, at the Lodge at Deadwood. The Kentucky Derby themed event will start the night off with the
Silent Auction opening at 6:00pm and Live Auction to begin at 7:00pm. The auctioneers Adam Karrels
and Dave Wilson will bring excitement to the room of over 400 attendees.
There will be Storyboards of families sharing their stories of courage and what positive effect RFK had on
their family. Over $1,400,000 has been donated back to our community since 2003.
Realtors® for Kids is a non-profit organization that was started in 2003, when a group of individuals from
the Northern Black Hills Association of REALTORS® got together to discuss a way to address the
growing need in our communities. Realtors® For Kids strives to build stronger communities by creating
opportunities for the children. The funds raised stay in our local Northern Black Hills Communities
including Belle Fourche, Deadwood, Lead, Newell, Nisland, Spearfish, St. Onge, Sturgis and Vale. Over
430 children received special financial assistance last year from REALTORS® For Kids.
